PGA Thanksgiving

The Pettet Gathering Association held its annual extravaganza in Yuma, Arizona - home of Ron and Linda. Some of the north-to-south contingency stopped at Valley of Fire in Nevada on the way down. Everyone had great fun climbing around on the rocks.

Ron and Linda had a lot of fun activities prepared for us. I loved the geo-cache they had set up along the river. We got a good walk and really enjoyed the sunshine along the way.

As always there was good food, late night card games and plenty of laughter. Thanks, Linda and Ron for hosting the PGA! (11/2010)
Note: I need to gather pictures actually taken in Yuma because evidently I lost my brain and I didn't take any.

Hannah turns 1

I can't believe Hannah is already 1. Such a little cutie. Did she learn how to eat from her brothers? (11/2010)

and it's Halloween

Halloween spells party. I don't know why my kids like Halloween so much when I am not much of a fan but I do like seeing everyone dressed up. It is a lot of fun. (10/2010)

October Visit

Mark & Laura and fam came down the first weekend in October for a visit and to enjoy conference together. We had the boys for the weekend so went up American Fork canyon on Saturday and ate lunch and listened to the afternoon session. It was a beautiful fall day. (10/2010)

A Blessing

Amy and Aaron went to St. George and blessed Eastyn there. A bunch of us were able to make the trip down for the special event. It was very interesting when all of us attended Amy's grandparents ward. It was the first and probably only baby blessing ever in that congregation where the average age is probably somewhere around 80. It was great to be there. (9/2010)

Out and About

Even Grandma and Grandpa need some "out and about" time. One day in July we took a mid-week ride up American Fork Canyon. Wow! Great ride, great scenery, great day! (and the company was good, too!) (7/2010)

Visiting Chatty Rachael

We got to visit Rachael (oh yeah, and her parents) in July. She told us lots of stories and showed us all sorts of toys. We have no idea what she was talking about most of the time but she had a lot to say. What a joy! (7/2010)

July Festivities

Okay, so I degress again. We got up very early one morning in July to go watch the hot air balloons in Provo. The wind played havoc with the take-offs but we did see a couple get off the ground. The balloons are always great to see. Who wants to try it again? I'm game!

Tawnia had the bright idea to camp out for the 24th of July Parade. What was she thinking? And of course, Trystal and I were bright enough to go along with it. Sleeping is really not part of the experience. Apparently we picked a great spot. The only spot on the street where the sprinklers decided to come on. The scramble was at least entertaining. The bonus was that the parade was very enjoyable in the shade instead of the hot sun. (7/2010)

Welcoming Eastyn Olivia

(I got out of order here) I had to wait a couple weeks to make the trip to visit our newest sweet granddaughter. Always a delight to hold these little ones. And of course the added bonus of time with cute Jefrie. Welcome Eastyn, you are beautiful! (8-2010)

Dan the Man is 5

Just for contrast Daniel was not so excited about getting his picture taken. We really did have a good time going to Kennecot and watching the HUGE trucks. I put the camera away for further adventures. (8/2010)

Emersyn "the model" turns 4

We had plenty of opportunities to shoot some photos of little miss Emersyn on her birthday outing. How can you help but smile! A visit to the aquarium and Thanksgiving Village Farm to ride a horse were mere opportunities to pose. Emmy did love the little goats- the smaller the better. I think she wanted to take one home. Come on Mom, just a little goat! (8-2010)

July 2010 Marti Birthday Outing

The "fun and fiesty princess" got to go to the Grand America for a special tea! She liked the fancy surroundings and fancy food. Later a trip to "Liberty Land" for a couple rides and a round of miniature golf provided some entertainment for Grandma and Grandpa. We have never seen such a style of golf . . . humm . . . interesting!

and now PEANUT BUTTER CLAY

Grandma's are Great! Especially when they make peanut butter clay. The kids had a great time. Nathan really had the creative juices flowing. I was surpised how long everybody played. Fun, fun. (5/14/10)

Rachael Turns 1

Rachael turned 1 so we all joined in the celebration. Jamie had some games set up for the kids. A good time was had by all.

Spring Pilgrimage

We made our 2nd annual trip to the sunny warm clime of Arizona for MLB Cactus League Spring Training. Brett joined us (because he cried). We had a great time. One of the highlights was seeing Ken Griffey Jr with the Seattle Mariners. We also saw some old-timers at the Scottsdale Stadium and got signatures from Bob Feller, Dave Kingman, Gaylord Perry and Rollie Fingers. Bob Feller talked with Gary about Salt Lake and Joe Buzas the owner at the time they moved from Portland. He was sharp as a tack and very personable. Both of these events turned out to be really impressive when Ken Griffey Jr retired from baseball later in the season and Bob Feller died at the age of 92 in December (2010). What a great way to get some much needed rays after a long winter and enjoy our favorite pasttime! (3/2010)
